First thing first- take a breath. You're not alone. You're not crazy.

I want to use my experience to help others. I feel like I have spent my entire life in existential crisis. My desire to know why has often been seen as disrespectful. I thought I was the problem.

I do not have the answers, but I would like to try and help you find yours. My only certificates are in the life experience I've gathered.

About Me

Jackson Memorial High School: Class of 2008, Jackson, NJ.

Rowan University: I completed 3 years towards a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering before realizing I realized my career path would park me in front of a computer. Feeling lost and confused, I dropped out, taking my summer job full time.

Landscaping/Hardscaping: For the next 3-4 years I worked manual labor. I built and maintained large residential gardens, patios, retaining walls, etc. With student loan payments dominating my pay check, I was confronted with a decision: move back with mom and dad or continue carving a life of my own. I decided I would join the military to open more doors for myself.

United States Air Force: I enlisted in the Air Force as a Security Forces Patrolman (military police). I spent roughly 2 years as a Marine Patrolman, operating boats conducting waterborne security and law enforcement. I then transitioned to being a K9 handler. While I worked with many types of dogs, I personally handled two Belgian Malinois, both trained in patrol (bite work) and explosives detection.

While active duty, I utilized my benefits to get two degrees-
Community College of the Air Force: AAS Criminal Justice
Ashford University: BA Homeland Security and Emergency Management

I enjoyed my time in the military, but I wanted more personal autonomy, so I decided to separate after 6 years of service. I transitioned in the middle of Covid and finding a job was not easy.

Amazon: I worked as an Area Manager and into the stretch Operations Manager position at Amazon for two years. During this time I managed shifts as many as 4 salaried leaders and 400 hourly associates. Amazon has been an awesome company to work for, but shift work is very strenuous on both yourself and your family. I found an internal program manager role to transition into, searching a more consistent schedule.

The title has changed a few times and I was promoted, my current title is Sr. Process Improvement Specialist. It is a fancy way to say I am good at picking apart processes and implementing strategies to correct deficiencies. For all intents and purposes, I had "made it", but I still feel unfufilled.

I am not sure if I can help you, but I'd like to try. Either way, you'll be helping me.
